Nur leaves for treatment in Singapore
Gono Odhikar Parishad President and former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur has flown to Singapore for advanced medical treatment.
On Monday (September 22) at 8:25 am, he departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
He was accompanied by his personal physician, Associate Professor of Orthopedics and Spine Surgery at BSMMU Dr. Sajjad Hossain Russel. Party sources said Nur will receive treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.
A statement published on Nur’s Facebook page said, after long-term treatment in Bangladesh, doctors advised him to go abroad for advanced care. The decision was made due to multiple health complications, including nasal surgery.
Earlier, Gono Odhikar Parishad Office Secretary Shakil Uzzaman said in a press release that Nur was seriously injured in an attack in front of the party office in Bijoynagar on August 29. He was treated for about 18 days at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at a private hospital. Eventually, following doctors’ advice and family-party decision, he has been sent to Singapore.
