Objectionable behaviour of madrasa teacher, CCTV footage viral

The allegation of objectionable behaviour with a woman has arisen against Lecturer of N Akand Kamil Madrasa of Netrokona Maulana Ehsanul Haque. Discussion and criticism have started across the city after several footage of the CCTV camera of the madrasa spread on social media on Tuesday.

Several of the teachers and employees of the madrasa have claimed that they have seen that scene in the live feed of the CCTV. Their allegation is that such behaviour of a teacher inside the educational institution is undesirable and harmful for the image of the institution.

In the CCTV footage it is seen that Maulana Ehsanul Haque is talking with a woman wearing a burqa sitting on two sides of the table in a room of the madrasa around 11:38am on August 17. After some time he leaves the table and goes behind the chair of that woman. Later he is seen going and standing beside and behind that woman in several phases.

According to the time-related information of the footage, he goes near that woman again around 11:44am. It is being alleged that he positioned near her several times in the next one minute and touched her.

Besides, that woman is also seen in the room in another footage of 12:19pm on August 20. The concerned have informed that the teacher has been seen going near her several times by keeping an eye on the direction of the door there.

Lecturer of the madrasa Naznin Nahar said after the holiday she saw ‘unpleasant behaviour’ of a woman and a man in a room on the monitor of the office room. At that time the honours examination was going on at the madrasa. She showed the matter to another teacher Mubasshera Madam. Later Naznin Nahar informed that she also noticed the matter when those two came out of the room.

Teacher Mehebube Alam Jebin said the scene that they have seen in the CCTV is extremely objectionable. Such behaviour is not acceptable in a religious educational institution. She demanded a proper investigation of the incident and taking measures against the responsible person.

Meanwhile several teachers have also alleged the attempt of covering up the matter against the madrasa administration after the incident came into the open. Their claim is that the incident should be investigated properly administratively.

Principal of N Akand Kamil Madrasa Muhammad Abdul Baten said the madrasa authorities have already taken administrative measures against the accused person on the basis of the allegations received from the media and various sources.

He said the entry of the accused person into the campus has been banned and a tough measure like expulsion has been taken. There is no obstacle to examining if there is any allegation against the madrasa administration either.

However Maulana Ehsanul Haque has denied the allegation.
