Chattogram's Khulshi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arifur Rahman has been withdrawn and added to the line of duty for harassing and assaulting national team cricketer Nayeem Hasan.

This information was revealed in a notification signed by Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali on Saturday (June 13).

Baklia Police Station OC Mohammad Solaiman has been given the responsibility as the new OC of Khulshi Police Station.

On Friday night, Khulshi Police were accused of harassing and assaulting a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw carrying national team cricketer Nayeem Hasan at the Lalkhan Bazar flyover on his way home from the Airport. Nayeem's brother filed a case with Khulshi Police Station as the complainant.

Khulshi Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shafiqul Islam, Constable Russell and police source Sohel were accused in the case. After the complaint, the three accused policemen were withdrawn.

Later, the CMP started an investigation into Nayeem's complaint. Initially, the police said that the raid was conducted in the area based on information regarding gold smuggling. However, the process of the raid, the source of the information and the behavior of the police are all being investigated.
