One Bangladeshi killed, 12 injured in Iranian missile attack in Saudi Arabia
One Bangladeshi national and another person have been killed in an Iranian missile strike in Saudi Arabia amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Twelve more Bangladeshis were injured in the incident.
The attack occurred on Sunday, March 8, in a residential area of Al-Kharj city in Saudi Arabia. International news agency Reuters confirmed the information citing Saudi Civil Defence.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Saudi Civil Defence said a missile struck a residential compound in the Al-Kharj administrative area of Riyadh province. One Bangladeshi and one Indian national were killed in the attack. Twelve others were injured, all of them Bangladeshi citizens. The attack reportedly targeted a building housing a maintenance and cleaning company.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard has claimed it carried out the strikes targeting radar systems in several locations in Saudi Arabia, including Al-Kharj. Since the joint US-Israeli attack on February 28 and the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Iran has been consistently attacking US military installations in Gulf countries.
