One dead, 416 new dengue cases reported in 24hrs

In the past 24 hours, one more person has died from dengue fever in Bangladesh, while 416 new patients have been admitted to hospitals with the disease.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday (July 2) by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the total number of dengue-related deaths this year has now reached 44. The total number of confirmed cases has risen to 11,098.

The press release stated that among the newly infected patients, 165 were admitted from Barishal Division (outside City Corporation), 23 from Chattogram Division (outside City Corporation), 55 from Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation), 65 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 29 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 18 from Khulna Division (outside City Corporation), 51 from Rajshahi Division (outside City Corporation), and 10 from Mymensingh Division.

Of the 11,098 people infected with dengue so far this year, 6,561 are male and 4,537 are female.
