One dead, 8 new Covid cases reported in 24hrs

In the past 24 hours, one person has died from coronavirus in Bangladesh, while eight new cases have been reported. During this time, 234 samples were tested.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) shared this information in its regular press release on Tuesday (July 8).

According to the release, the total number of deaths from coronavirus in the country has reached 29,524. So far, a total of 2,052,196 people have been infected with the virus. A total of 15,734,070 samples have been tested across the country.

Notably, the first Covid-19 case in Bangladesh was reported on March 8, 2020, followed by the first death on March 18 that year. The deadliest days of the pandemic were August 5 and 10 in 2021, when 264 people died on each day.
