One killed in van-covered van head-on collision in Bhanga

A man named Torap Molla, 40, was killed in a head-on collision between a van and a covered van in Bhanga upazila, Faridpur, on Monday morning, June 15. The van driver was seriously injured in the incident, police said.

The accident occurred around 6:00 am on the East Hasamdia Expressway service road under Bhanga upazila. Bhanga Highway Police rushed to the spot and recovered the deceased and the injured.

Police said the covered van has been seized and taken to the highway police station. Legal proceedings are ongoing.

The deceased, Torap Molla, was the son of late Monsur Molla of Choudhurikanda village in Bhanga municipality.

Bhanga Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector Sohel Khan said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound covered van collided head-on with a passenger van coming from the opposite direction. One person died on the spot, and the van driver was seriously injured.

He said the cause of the accident is being investigated, and necessary legal action will be taken.
