One One Foundation and Medsis Soft have officially launched their operations in Bangladesh. A colourful event was held on Thursday evening at the China-Bangladesh Friendship International Conference Centre in the capital to mark the occasion.

Former water resources and religious affairs minister and veteran politician Nazim Uddin Al Azad attended the event as the chief guest. One One Foundation Chairman Ruhul Amin presided over the programme.

Discussions were held with the participation of Dr Engineer Rafiqul Islam, Dr Azizullah M Nuruzzaman, Abu Yusuf Jobayer Ullah, Advocate Md Shafiqur Rahman, Engineer Ali Azam, Foundation Executive Director Habibur Rahman, Director Jannatul Ferdousi and Dr Nahid Afrin Nisa.

Speakers called upon the youth to focus on building the country by establishing unity down to the grassroots level. They said the main objective of such organisations should be to bring the underprivileged sections of society into the mainstream through integrated initiatives.

According to the organisers, One One Foundation is a US-based service organisation. Inspired by patriotism, they have begun their activities in Bangladesh with the aim of developing youth and women society.

The organisation will work in health education, increasing literacy, rights awareness, employment generation, youth development, women's empowerment and climate and environmental conservation. Additionally, there are plans to adopt continuous programmes to ensure human resource development.

The event also highlighted initiatives to increase citizen rights and legal awareness, prepare unemployed populations for employment, develop ethics, leadership and skills among youth, expand health knowledge among marginalised communities, ensure women's economic and social empowerment and provide policy support through development research.
