Operations like Mohammadpur will continue to ensure public safety: ISPR
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement on Thursday (February 20), assuring that operations similar to the one in Mohammadpur will continue to maintain public safety.
The statement noted that acting on information about a robbery attempt in the Chand Udyan area of Mohammadpur, a joint forces team conducted an operation early Wednesday.
According to the statement, during the operation, the joint forces surrounded a narrow alley, at which point terrorists opened fire on the team from the roof of a one-story building. In response, the team acted swiftly in self-defense and successfully apprehended five armed terrorists.
The statement also mentioned that, during a search of the building, two bodies were discovered on the roof. A pistol, four rounds of ammunition, and a machete were recovered from the detained individuals, who were then handed over to Mohammadpur police station for legal proceedings. The statement concluded by assuring that such operations will continue to safeguard public safety.
It is important to note that, during the operation in the 40 Feet area of Basila, Mohammadpur, two individuals were killed in a gunfight with the joint forces. Their identities have not been confirmed yet.
