Osman Hadi shooting: Police release suspect’s photo, seek public help

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has released the photograph of a suspected attacker in the shooting of Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

Additionally, the authorities also urged the public to come forward with any information, noting that all informants’ identities will be protected, with appropriate rewards offered.

In a press release issued on Saturday morning (December 13), the DMP said the suspect was preliminarily identified through analysis of CCTV footage from the scene of the attack. Police are now intensifying efforts to track him down and arrest those involved.

Police noted that the individual shown in the released image is being actively sought. Anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts has been requested to immediately contact law enforcement.

According to the press release, Osman Hadi was critically injured on Friday when motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on him near the Bijoynagar Box Culvert area of the capital.
