Our sole agenda is to gift the nation a credible election: CEC
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin has reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to delivering a fair, transparent, and credible election to the nation.
Speaking at the inauguration of a day-long dialogue with representatives of election monitoring organisations at the Election Commission’s conference hall in the capital's Agargaon on Tuesday (November 25), he said, “Our sole agenda is to gift the nation a credible election.”
“Conducting a free and fair election is our responsibility, and we will need everyone’s cooperation to achieve it,” he added.
The CEC stated that the commission aims to learn from past mistakes and move forward.
Ahead of the 13th national elections, the dialogue was organised to engage observers in ensuring transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
The CEC also urged observers to act as partners of the Election Commission, receive proper training if they are new, and remain politically neutral, emphasising that those appointed for observation must not have affiliations with any political party.
