Over 200 officials apologize to NBR Chairman
Over 200 officials and employees have officially apologized to Md. Abdur Rahman Khan, Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), regarding the recent protest.
Officials from batches 28 to 40 of the Income Tax Department gathered in groups at the NBR headquarters in Dhaka on Tuesday (8 July) and expressed their regret. They pledged to work together to restore a normal work environment.
A source at the NBR confirmed the matter.
The source said the chairman urged officials to carry out their duties with patriotism, adding, “There is no need to fear if you act responsibly. Those who crossed the limits will face consequences.”
Earlier, the NBR was tense due to the dismissal of some officials and anti-corruption investigations following the protests. Now, efforts are being made to restore normalcy.
