Over 25,500 liters of fuel recovered in nationwide raids
Authorities have recovered 25,537 liters of illegally stored fuel across various districts, including 25,132 liters of diesel, 395 liters of petrol, and 10 liters of octane.
The disclosure was made at a press briefing on Thursday (April 2) by the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.
In the past 24 hours, mobile courts conducted 381 raids nationwide to curb illegal fuel hoarding and ensure smooth supply. These operations led to 169 cases being filed, fines totaling Tk 8,86,000 collected, and one individual sentenced to imprisonment.
The Department of Energy and Mineral Resources said such operations will continue to maintain uninterrupted fuel supply and prevent irregularities.
