Pakistan has granted permission to Biman Bangladesh Airlines to operate direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi.

The approval was confirmed on Friday, January 2, by Pakistani media, citing official sources.

According to the report, following formal government approval, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority issued clearance for Biman to operate flights on the Dhaka–Karachi route. The initial permission will remain valid until March 30, 2026, with the option for future review.

Under the terms of the approval, Biman must use designated and approved routes while crossing Pakistani airspace and strictly adhere to the assigned flight paths.

A specific slot has also been allocated to Biman at Karachi International Airport. The airline has been instructed to provide full flight details in advance, ensure operational coordination and comply with all security requirements before departure from Dhaka.

Aviation officials in Pakistan said the launch of direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi will benefit people of both countries by easing travel, strengthening people-to-people contact and creating new opportunities for trade and business.
