Junaid Ahmed Palak, the State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Communication Technology, stressed the importance of smart management to ensure the profitable utilization of BTCL's resources. He highlighted the need for the proper utilization of BTCL's unused land nationwide, enhancing service quality of the Calling App Alaap to drive customer growth, expanding the service coverage of Broadband Internet Jibon, and strategically planning the utilization of other infrastructure assets.

He instructed the relevant authorities to capitalize on the opportunity to turn BTCL into a profitable enterprise through effective and smastt management.

The State Minister issued this directive during a meeting to evaluate BTCL's operations at the Telecommunication Building auditorium in the capital on Thursday (June 6).

Junaid Ahmed Palak emphasized the importance for Bangladesh to establish its own social media platform, akin to China's WeChat and South Korea's KakaoTalk.

He said, "We have a great opportunity to promote the calling app Alaap and establish a national social platform. Utilizing 'Alaap', 'Jibon', and underutilized land and infrastructure can significantly contribute to the national economy." He further commented, "While I am pleased with Alaap's development, I am not entirely satisfied with its progress. There is a deficiency in both marketing efforts and customer service, which impedes the expansion of Alaap's customer base."

At the progress review meeting of Teletalk Bangladesh Limited, the State Minister of Post, Telecommunication, and Information Technology was updated on the organization's multiple development initiatives, all geared towards transforming Teletalk into a profitable company.

In the event, Md Anwar Hossain, the Managing Director of BTCL, and Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, the Managing Director of Teletalk, highlighted the progress of their respective organizations.
