A sharp drop in temperature has intensified winter conditions across Panchagarh, with chilly winds and high humidity dominating the early hours of the day.

According to the Tetulia Weather Observatory, the district recorded a minimum temperature of 12.6°C at 6.00am on Sunday (November 23), accompanied by 97% humidity. While visibility remained normal due to the absence of dense fog, light fog and excessive moisture in the air made the cold feel more biting.

On Saturday at the same time, Tetulia logged 14.7°C, with humidity at 99%. Meteorologists say the significant gap between daytime and nighttime temperatures is amplifying the chill from evening through early morning.

Cold winds swept through Debiganj, Boda, Atwari, and Panchagarh Sadar since dawn, with residents reporting a noticeable increase in discomfort due to the sudden temperature drop.

Jitendranath Roy, meteorologist at the Tetulia Weather Observatory, said the minimum temperature in Tetulia had hovered around 14°C over the past week. Sunday’s decline marks a further shift toward harsher winter conditions.

He added that temperatures are expected to dip even lower in the coming week, with winter likely to set in firmly across northern Bangladesh by early December.
