Panchagarh shivers as temperature drops to 16°C
A cold spell has begun in the country’s northernmost district, Panchagarh, with foggy mornings and dew-covered fields signaling the arrival of winter.
At 6am on Monday (November 10), the Tetulia Weather Observatory recorded a temperature of 16.5°C with 98% humidity. The previous day’s temperature was nearly the same.
The cold breeze and morning fog have prompted locals to reach for warm clothes, while demand for blankets, quilts, and winter garments has increased in rural markets.
Jitendranath Roy, acting officer at the Tetulia Weather Observatory, said the temperature in Panchagarh has been fluctuating between 19°C and 16°C in recent days.
The mercury may dip further in the coming days, he added.
