PBI brings back accused from Qatar through Interpol

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has brought back Mubarak Mondal, the mastermind of the controversial headless murder in Araihazar, Narayanganj, from Qatar with the help of Interpol.

The PBI said that when he was brought back to the country and presented in court, Mubarak Mondal voluntarily gave a confessional statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Mubarak Mondal, 47, is the son of Yasin Mondal of Padnarayanpur area of ​​Pangsha upazila of Rajbari. The investigation agency said that he had been staying abroad for a long time.

According to PBI information, he was the mastermind of the murder of Abraham Khan alias Alim Khan that took place in Araihazar, Narayanganj on December 16 last year. A day before the murder, he came to the country and played a role in implementing the plan with the help of his wife and relatives and later fled abroad again.

The murder began with the discovery of a headless body next to a sand field in Srinivasadi area of ​​Araihazar upazila on December 16 last year. Later, the PBI identified the deceased through fingerprints.

Earlier, during the investigation, an accused named Ruhul Amin Rabbi was arrested, who gave a confessional statement in court. The investigation revealed that the murder was planned based on personal relationships and blackmail and later this brutal murder was committed.

The PBI said that it was possible to bring the accused back to the country with the help of Interpol by following international legal procedures. An operation is underway to arrest the other accused in the case.
