People will elect BNP as a pro-country force: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the people of the country will elect BNP as a pro-country force.

He said this while talking to reporters at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Thursday (January 1) afternoon. Earlier, Pir Sahib Hazrat Shah Mohammad Mohebullah of Charchina Darbar Sharif paid a courtesy call there.

Mirza Fakhrul said, Begum Khaleda Zia's deep love for the country, soil and people has stirred the people of the country. People are deeply shocked by her demise at a time of crisis in the country.

He further said, ‘The love and emotion that has been created among the people through the passing of Madam will undoubtedly strengthen BNP.’

Referring to the meeting with Pir Saheb, he said, ‘The philosophy of nationalism that martyred President Ziaur Rahman left behind, national leader Begum Khaleda Zia has taken that ideal forward. Similarly, Tarique Rahman will take that flag in hand and work with the people and establish democracy—this is the expectation of the people.
