Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has said that in establishing a just state, the people's verdict will be the ultimate power.

He made this remark at a public rally held at the historic Madrasa Maidan in Rajshahi on Thursday afternoon.

He called upon the people to unite in favour of 'Yes' in the upcoming election and national referendum, aiming to build a corruption-free, exploitation-free, and justice-based state.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said if Jamaat-e-Islami gets the responsibility of governing the state, it will bear the educational expenses of every child in the country. The opportunity for completely free education from primary to postgraduate (Master's) level will be ensured. He said education will be the primary tool for nation-building.

Regarding employment for the younger generation, he said, "In the July movement, students and the public did not demand unemployment benefits; they demanded the right to work."

Reassuring the youth, he informed that if Jamaat comes to power, young people will be developed as skilled human resources through proper education and adequate training. Thereafter, they will be provided with qualified and dignified employment opportunities.

He further said that in government job recruitment, party loyalty will not be the criterion; rather, merit and patriotism will be the sole measures. Simultaneously, he reiterated the commitment to protect everyone's religious freedom and civil rights.

Bringing up the tourism industry, the Jamaat Ameer said that due to negligence and corruption, the country's tourism sector is on the verge of destruction. If it comes to power, Rajshahi's archaeological and historical sites will be transformed into world-class tourism centres, which will bring new momentum to the national economy and create employment opportunities for thousands of people.
