Recognized photographer Chanchal Mahmud has passed away. He breathed his last at LabAid Hospital in Dhanmondi around 9 pm today (Friday, June 20). Photographer Shahadat Parvez said that he had been suffering from various physical complications for a long time. He was admitted to LabAid Hospital four days ago. "His kidney and heart condition were not good. He had suffered heart attacks five times before. He had suffered two heart attacks today. He has suffered a total of seven heart attacks," he added. Chanchal Mahmud is likely be buried after Zuhr prayers on Saturday at Banani graveyard. Chanchal Mahmud has worked as a photographer for more than four and a half decades. He is a familiar face in fashion photography in the country.

খ্যাতিমান আলোকচিত্রী চঞ্চল মাহমুদ মারা গেছেন। আজ (শুক্রবার, ২০ জুন) রাত ৯টার দিকে ঢাকার ধানমন্ডির ল্যাবএইড হাসপাতালে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন তিনি। আলোকচিত্রী সাহাদাত পারভেজ জানান, তিনি দীর্ঘদিন ধরে শারীরিক নানা জটিলতায় ভুগছিলেন।চার দিন আগে তাকে ল্যাবএইড হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। 'ওনার কিডনি ও হার্টের অবস্থা ভালো ছিল না। আগে পাঁচবার তিনি হার্ট অ্যাটাক করেছেন। আজকেই দুবার হার্ট অ্যাটাক হয়েছে। মোট সাতবার হার্ট অ্যাটাক হয়েছে,' তিনি জানান। বনানী কবরস্থানে শনিবার যোহরের নামাজের পর চঞ্চল মাহমুদের দাফন হতে পারে বলে জানা গেছে। সাড়ে চার দশকের বেশি সময় ধরে আলোকচিত্রী হিসেবে কাজ করেছেন চঞ্চল মাহমুদ। দেশে ফ্যাশন ফটোগ্রাফিতে তিনি পরিচিত মুখ।
