Photos of Maulana Bhasani, Osman Hadi and others displayed at Dhanmondi 32

Photographs of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, Sirajul Alam Khan, Siraj Sikder, Major Jalil and Sharif Osman Hadi have been displayed at the demolished house of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital.

The programme was held in the early hours of Tuesday, December 16, on the occasion of Victory Day, with a victory rally led by Arif Sohel, joint member secretary of the National Citizen Party, followed by the hanging of the photographs at Dhanmondi 32.

Speaking at the event, Arif Sohel said the Liberation War of 1971 was not the property of any party or family, but a people’s war.

He claimed that although the Awami League fled in the face of attacks by the Pakistani forces, farmers, workers, students and ordinary people of the country spontaneously joined the war and snatched victory.

Arif Sohel said such programmes would continue in the future. July fighters who took part in the programme strongly condemned and protested the attack allegedly carried out with the intent to kill Sharif Osman Hadi.
