Training aircraft crash in Uttara: Police reserve Metro Rail carriages to transport the injured

A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed onto the Milestone College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, leaving many people injured and burned. Several victims have been admitted to hospitals for treatment.
To facilitate the transport of the injured to hospitals under Dhaka South City Corporation, police have reserved carriages on the metro rail. This was announced by the Police Headquarters on Monday, July 21.
The Police Headquarters stated that a metro rail carriage adjacent to the women’s carriage has been specifically reserved for carrying the injured from the Milestone College accident.
The crash occurred around 1:30 PM on Monday, July 21, when the aircraft struck a building at the Milestone College campus in Diabari, Uttara. Immediately after the accident, civilians, fire service personnel, military members, and police rushed to the scene and began rescue operations.
Photos and videos shared on social media show students in school uniforms running around bloodied and injured. The campus was filled with panic and distress.
According to the Fire Service, one body has been recovered. At least 13 injured people, mostly students, have been admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
While the identities of the injured are still being confirmed, eyewitnesses report that many were waiting on campus after classes ended.
Four seriously injured individuals were airlifted by Air Force helicopter to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Other critical patients have been admitted to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital, Kuwait Moitree Hospital, and Uttara Medical College Hospital.
Officials from Bangladesh Medical College Hospital have appealed for urgent blood donations to save the lives of the burn victims and critically injured patients.
