PM inaugurates Krishak Card, Tk 2,500 sent to 22,000 farmers' phones

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the 'Krishak Card' programme by sending Tk 2,500 each to the mobile phones of 22,000 farmers.


The programme was inaugurated from the Shaheed Maruf Stadium in Tangail at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 14.


As soon as the prime minister pressed a button on his laptop, the financial benefits were transferred to the mobile phones of 22,065 marginal farmers in 11 upazilas across the country, including Tangail Sadar. The Krishak Card was one of BNP's significant election pledges.


With this, the BNP government has moved another step closer to fulfilling another electoral promise. Earlier, the government launched the Family Card, Sports Card, and canal excavation programmes as promised.


The prime minister handed over Krishak Cards and saplings to 15 farmers in Tangail. They are Abu Kaisar, Roman, Shahnur Alam, Shah Alam, Zulekha Akhtar, Nasima Khanam Sumona, Shilpi, Amena Begum, Nawab Ali, Mohammad Ali, Kabir Hossain, Monowara Akhtar, Shamima Akhtar, Layla Begum, and Tahmina.


Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman entered the Shaheed Maruf Stadium at 11:20 am. Upon reaching the stage, he greeted the farmers by waving his hand. The programme began with recitations from the Holy Quran, Gita, Bible and Tripitaka.
