PM set to visit Jashore today

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to visit Jashore on Monday (April 27), marking his first official trip to the district since assuming office.

According to the Prime Minister’s press wing, he will depart from his Gulshan residence in the morning and travel to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by road before flying to Jashore.

The daylong visit will begin in Sharsha upazila, where the prime minister will inaugurate the excavation of the historic Ulshi Canal. He is also scheduled to address a gathering of local administration officials and community leaders there.

After returning to Jashore Sadar, Tarique Rahman will take a brief break at the circuit house before laying the foundation stone of the long-anticipated Jashore Medical College Hospital in the afternoon.

The highlight of the visit will be a public rally at Jashore Central Eidgah Maidan, where the prime minister will deliver a keynote speech as the chief guest. Preparations for the rally are already underway across the district.

Following the day’s schedule, the prime minister is expected to return to Dhaka in the evening by air.
