PM Tarique Rahman's Sylhet visit rescheduled for May 2
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's first visit to Sylhet since taking office has been rescheduled. According to the new schedule, he will now visit Sylhet on May 2 instead of April 30.
Industries and Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sylhet-1 (Sadar-Nagar) constituency, confirmed the information on Saturday, April 11.
Khandaker Abdul Muktadir further informed that during his Sylhet visit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the excavation work of the Basiya River in Biswanath. On the same day, the prime minister will also be present at the Sylhet District Stadium to inaugurate the 'Notun Kuri Sports' programme.
Earlier, on April 1, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque had informed during a visit to Sylhet that the prime minister would come to Sylhet on April 30 to inaugurate 'Notun Kuri Sports'.
It is to be noted that on January 21, BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman had formally launched his election campaign for the 13th National Parliamentary Election from Sylhet. He subsequently won the February 12 election and became prime minister for the first time.
