PM to visit Moulvibazar tomorrow

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is visiting Moulvibazar tomorrow (June 17). He will inaugurate the family card distribution program among more than three hundred families of Srimangal and Rajnagar through a separate program in Moulvibazar. He will also meet local BNP leaders at a resort in Moulvibazar.

The Prime Minister will leave for Sylhet's Osmani International Airport from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:30am on Wednesday. He will reach Sylhet at 10:15am and leave for Srimangal in Moulvibazar by road. He will inaugurate the family card distribution program at a program organized at Victoria High School grounds in Srimangal at 1:00pm. 155 families of Ward No. 1 of Mirzapur Union of Srimangal Upazila will receive family cards in this program.

The Prime Minister will participate in the second family card distribution ceremony at Moulvibazar Government High School grounds at 2:30pm. There, cards will be distributed among 152 families of Ward No. 7 of Tengra Union in Rajnagar Upazila.

The Prime Minister will leave Moulvibazar Government High School grounds for Dusai Resort at 3:30pm. After resting there for some time, he will join a political meeting at 4:45pm. After the meeting, he will reach Sylhet by road and leave for Dhaka by plane at 8:30pm.

Extensive preparations have been made by the BNP in Sylhet to welcome the Prime Minister on her way to Moulvibazar. Party leaders and activists will welcome her standing on both sides of the road at various points in the city. Similar arrangements have been made in Dokhhin Surma and Fenchuganj Upazilas. Moulvibazar and Srimangal towns have been decorated with arches, banners and festoons.

Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Touhiduzzaman Pabel said that all the relevant agencies, including the Special Security Force, are working in coordination to ensure the overall security of the Prime Minister.

Sylhet District BNP President and Sylhet City Corporation Administrator Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury said that although the Prime Minister's main program is in Moulvibazar, preparations have been made by the party and the administration to welcome her in Sylhet as well. Top party leaders will welcome the Prime Minister at Osmani International Airport.

Incidentally, Tarique Rahman visited Sylhet for the first time on May 2 after assuming the charge of Prime Minister. This is his second visit to Sylhet.
