PM walks to party office, distributes Eid gifts to city corporation workers

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman walked to his party office in Gulshan, capital, after Asr prayers on Friday, May 22. He was accompanied by his Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon.

Rumon said the prime minister came to the party office on a holiday to attend an event with administrators and mayors of city corporations across the country.

The event was organised to hand over Eid-ul-Azha gifts to sanitation workers of city corporations through the administrators, he added.

Earlier before Eid-ul-Fitr, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had given Tk 5,000 each to sanitation workers as Eid gifts. The prime minister will hand over cheques to workers through mayors and administrators today as well, Rumon said.

The prime minister's decision to walk to his office and his concern for workers even on a holiday has been hailed as a heartfelt and commendable step by both ordinary citizens and party leaders and activists.
