PM's Principal Secretary Tofazzel Hossain’s appointment extended for another year

The government has extended the appointment of Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, principal secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, for one more year on contractual basis.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard, signed by Bhaskar Debnath Bappi, deputy secretary of the ministry, on Wednesday (June 26).

According to the notification, as per the section 49 of the Government Employment Act - 2018, Tofazzel Hossain has been contractually appointed to the post of Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister for one more year from the date of joining on July 5, 2024, subject to the suspension of his post-retirement leave and related benefits.

The notification said other terms and conditions of this contractual appointment shall be determined by the approved contract. This order was issued in public interest.
