Police have arrested the stepfather of a teenage girl in Narsingdi in a case involving her rape, abduction and subsequent murder. Superintendent of Police Md Abdullah-Al-Faruk shared this information at a press conference at his office around 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 7. The SP informed that the man has already confessed to murdering his stepdaughter in a statement recorded under Section 164 before a court. SP Md Abdullah-Al-Faruk said the stepfather killed the teenager by strangling her with her own scarf.

নরসিংদীতে কিশোরীকে ধর্ষণের পর অপহরণ করে হত্যা মামলায় তার সৎ বাবাকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। শনিবার (৭ মার্চ) বেলা আড়াইটার দিকে নিজ কার্যালয়ে সংবাদ সম্মেলন করে পুলিশ সুপার মো. আবদুল্লাহ-আল-ফারুক এ তথ্য জানান। ওই ব্যক্তি ইতিমধ্যে মেয়েকে হত্যার দায় স্বীকার করে আদালতে ১৬৪ ধারায় স্বীকারোক্তি দিয়েছেন বলে জানান তিনি। পুলিশ সুপার মো. আবদুল্লাহ-আল-ফারুক বলেন, ওই কিশোরীর গলায় ওড়না পেঁচিয়ে শ্বাসরোধ করে হত্যা করেন তার সৎ বাবা।
