Police conduct anti-drug drive singing Ayub Bachchu's songs, 7 arrested

Police have handcuffed drug users while singing Ayub Bachchu's songs. A video of this unique operation by Shahbagh Police Station in the capital has gone viral on social media.

The operation was conducted in plain clothes at Suhrawardy Udyan on Wednesday evening. Seven individuals have been arrested with drugs, confirmed N M Nasir Uddin, Deputy Commissioner of DMP's Media and Public Relations Division.

Shahbagh Police Station OC Md Moniruzzaman said drug dealers and users usually flee as soon as they notice police during regular drives. This time, a new strategy was devised. A 10-member team led by Inspector (Operation) Khokon Mia began walking inside the park singing songs. This allowed them to get close to drug users and arrest them. Since the singing continued, others initially did not realise what was happening.

In the video, Constable Mamun is seen playing the guitar. None of the team members are actually involved in music. The entire operation was conducted by singing off-key and playing the guitar out of tune.
