Police constable loses both legs while disembark from moving train in Naogaon

A police constable lost both legs after attempting to disembark from a moving train in Atrai Upazila.

The accident took place around 6:00am at Ahsanganj Railway Station today (April 6),

The injured cop, Emran Mia, 25, posted in Pirojpur district, was travelling to his in-laws’ home in Taratia village when the accident occurred.

According to Atrai Police OC Abdul Karim, he boarded the Simaanta Express from Khulna the previous night. When the train slowed near Ahsanganj Station, Emran Mia tried to jump off, slipped, and fell under the train wheels, resulting in amputation of both legs below the knees.

Locals rushed him to the Upazila Health Complex, but as his condition worsened, he was transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for further treatment.
