As part of a special crackdown, police raided 'mugging prone' areas in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area and arrested 48 people over various criminal charges. The special operation was conducted from 4:00pm on Monday to 8:00am Tuesday, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Police said that the arrestees include "identified" drug dealers, professional active muggers, extortionists, criminals, thieves and , wanted criminals. During the operation, law enforcers recovered illegal drugs and a number of locally-made weapons from the possession of the arrestees, the official said. The arrestees have been sent to the court.

বিশেষ অভিযানে ঢাকার মোহাম্মদপুরের ‘অপরাধপ্রবণ’ এলাকায় বিভিন্ন অভিযোগে ৪৮ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) উপ-কমিশনার (মিডিয়া) তালেবুর রহমান জানান, সোমবার (১০ ফেব্রুয়ারি) বিকেল চারটা থেকে মঙ্গলবার (১১ ফেব্রুয়ারি) সকাল আটটা পর্যন্ত বিশেষ অভিযান চালানো হয়। এর মধ্যে থানা পুলিশের অভিযানে ৪১ জন এবং ডেভিল হান্টের অভিযানে সাতজন গ্রেপ্তার হয়। তিনি জানান, গ্রেপ্তারকৃতদের মধ্যে রয়েছে চিহ্নিত মাদক ব্যবসায়ী, পেশাদার সক্রিয় ছিনতাইকারী, চাঁদাবাজ, অপরাধী, চোর এবং গ্রেপ্তারি পরোয়ানাভুক্ত অপরাধী। তাদের কাছ থেকে অবৈধ মাদক ও বেশ কিছু দেশি অস্ত্র জব্দ করা হয়েছে। গ্রেপ্তারকৃতদের আদালতের মাধ্যমে কারাগারে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
