Police killings investigated, will be re-investigated if necessary: LGRD Minister
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives and Secretary General of the BNP, has said that although the investigation into the killing has been completed, it may be reopened if deemed necessary.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the foundation stone of a four-storey building of a locally funded Hafezia madrasa in the Hajipara area of Thakurgaon district town on Friday (February 27), following Jumu’ah prayers, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that whatever the Home Minister has stated so far will remain effective.
“As an investigation has already been conducted, it will be carried out again if necessary,” he said, adding that the matter is currently under consideration by the court.
At that time, Mirza Fakhrul said that he feels fortunate to have come to Thakurgaon after the elections and laid the foundation stone of the madrasa. Praying to Allah, he said that he can be involved in the development activities of the madrasa.
He further said that he is indebted to the people of Thakurgaon. They have always supported him and it is because of that support that he got the opportunity to work. He urged them to continue this cooperation in the future as well.
The Local Government Minister said that local government elections will be held on time and necessary activities will be carried out to institutionalize democracy.
