Police officers must be ready for the electoral challenge: CA

The Chief Adviser has instructed police officers to remain neutral in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.

He also urged the 64 District Police Superintendents to prepare mentally for the challenges of overseeing the election.

“Officers must be ready for the electoral challenge. This is not an ordinary election—it comes after a popular uprising. It is the election to build the Bangladesh envisioned by our martyrs, and duties must be performed accordingly,” he said during a meeting Thursday morning (December 4) with senior officials, including the 64 district police chiefs, at the Chief Adviser’s office.

Regarding the appointment of police superintendents, he noted that officers for the 64 districts were selected through a random process to ensure impartiality. “Even with the best efforts, bias can creep in if left to discretion. Our goal was to prevent any partisanship,” he added.
