Police officer’s wife allegedly 'raped' during robbery in Chakaria

A shocking incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday night in Chakaria Municipality when a masked intruder broke into a rented home and allegedly raped the wife of a police constable stationed in Cox’s Bazar.

The attack occurred around 3 a.m. while the constable was away on duty. According to police reports, the suspect entered through the kitchen window, wielding a sharp machete and flashlight. He reportedly threatened the woman, stole her mobile phones and cash, and then assaulted her inside the kitchen.

The victim’s husband filed a case at the Chakaria Police Station upon returning home the following morning. Officer-in-Charge Md. Shafiqul Islam confirmed that authorities are actively reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify the perpetrator.

The victim’s two young children were present during the incident and cried out in fear. Neighboring residents responded quickly after hearing the commotion and rushed to the scene.

This incident has sparked concern in the community over security lapses in residential areas. Investigations are ongoing.
