Police to wear new uniforms from Saturday

The ling-awaited change in uniforms for Bangladesh Police after July Uprising is scheduled to take effect on Saturday.

According to the previous announcement, all police members were supposed to wear the new uniforms from Saturday, but it has been distributed initially on a limited scale.

The police said that since the uniforms are not yet ready for all members, some officers have been given new uniforms in the first phase. Initially, members of the Metropolitan and Special Units are receiving the new uniforms, and later it will reach all police members of the country in stages.

The new uniforms have been replaced by iron colors instead of dark blue and green. Initially, the new uniforms are being introduced in all metropolitans including the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, and later it will be extended to other units.

After the July uprising, the police force came under criticism. At that time, there were demands for reform of the force and changes in uniforms. The new uniforms were introduced after the government approved it.
