Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that police personnel are dissatisfied with their current uniform, and the government will discuss restoring one of the previous traditional uniforms at the highest level.

He made the remarks during the closing parade of the one-year basic training for the 43rd BCS (Police) cadets at the Police Academy in Sardah on Saturday (March 28).

As per the schedule, the minister reviewed the parade and presented awards to the trainee Assistant Police Superintendents.

Salahuddin Ahmed also emphasised that the government is working to establish an independent and strong Police Reform Commission to keep the force free from political interference.

He added that the police have gradually improved from the fragile state left during the fascist regime and reiterated that the force is intended to be a service-oriented friend of the people, not aligned with any political group.

The ceremony was attended by Housing Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, Inspector General of Police Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, and other senior police officials.

The 43rd BCS (Police) batch, which began training on March 1, 2025, saw 72 trainees formally complete their training and enter active service through this event.
