Policy revised for MPO inclusion of madrasa teachers
The Technical and Madrasa Education Division under the Ministry of Education has issued a new circular introducing amendments to the “Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2026” for non-government madrasa institutions.
According to the directive, signed by Secretary Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, the eligibility criteria and experience requirements for various administrative posts in Kamil, Fazil, Alim, and Dakhil madrasas have been revised.
Under the updated policy, candidates applying for the posts of principal and vice-principal in Kamil or Fazil madrasas must now have at least 18 years of service in MPO-listed positions. Additionally, applicants for the principal post must possess a minimum of three years of experience as vice-principal, muhaddith, mufassir, or assistant professor.
However, candidates holding higher degrees such as MPhil and PhD will receive relaxations in teaching experience requirements by up to two and four years respectively.
Significant changes have also been introduced for Alim madrasas. To qualify for the principal position, candidates must have 18 years of service along with at least three years of experience as an assistant professor or vice-principal. Those with five years of experience as a superintendent of a Dakhil madrasa will also be eligible to apply.
For the post of vice-principal in Alim madrasas, applicants must have two years of experience as an assistant professor, or three years as a Dakhil madrasa superintendent, or five years as an assistant superintendent, along with a total of 18 years of service.
In Dakhil madrasas, new rules have also been implemented for administrative roles. To become a superintendent, candidates must have at least three years of experience as an assistant superintendent along with 18 years of service. Furthermore, individuals with 18 years of experience as assistant maulvi, ibtedayi head, or head teacher of independent ibtedayi madrasas will also be considered eligible for superintendent and assistant superintendent posts.
The circular also stipulates that all candidates must possess an official index number to be eligible for these positions.
