Political party to be officially announced by February: Akhtar Hossain

The announcement of a new political party will be made by February, said Akhtar Hossain, member secretary of the Jatiya Nagarik Committee.

He said the Jatiya Nagarik Committee has already formed committees in 200 police stations.

“Committees of more than 400 police stations will be formed by January. The Jatiya Nagarik Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement are working across the country. The party will be officially announced by February” he added.

He made these remarks to reporters after exchanging views with students of Carmichael College in Rangpur on Thursday afternoon.

Akhtar Hossain said that they have not yet decided on the name of the political party. But more than 100 names have been proposed by different people. The name will be finalized from those proposed names.
