BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the country is currently experiencing an unstable situation. He pointed out that many issues that were once clear have now become uncertain and undefined. He emphasized that political unity is essential to navigate through this crisis, as it can help quickly establish true representation of the people.

Mirza Fakhrul made these comments as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on Sunday (April 20) at the Diploma Engineers Institute in the capital. The event was held in memory of Abdullah Al Noman, the former president of the Jatiotabadi Shramik Dal and a former minister.

Mirza Fakhrul said BNP gave its proposals to National Consensus Commission. “We believe that a solution that is truly acceptable to everyone will come out through a discussion. Through a fair election, we will get the representation of the people in a very short time,” he said.

He urged the party men to stay vigilant as struggle is not over yet and the path to a democratic transition is not yet smooth.

“We have not yet got a parliament elected by the people through elections. For this reason, we have to work very carefully, firmly, and with awareness. The party has to be made stronger and more powerful,” he said.

Paying tribute to Abdullah Al Noman, the BNP Secretary General said, Abdullah Al Noman worked to implement the dream of building a democratic Bangladesh. Noman could create a movement even in the most adverse environment and he had the power to unite people, he added.

Sramik Dal President Anwar Hossain chaired the discussion which was moderated by Publicity and Publication Secretary Manjurul Islam Manjur.

Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Vice-Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan and Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Sayeed Al Noman, son of late leader Abdullah Al Noman, were present.
