Postponed HSC exams under Chattogram Board to resume Aug 20

The Chattogram Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has published a revised schedule for the postponed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations of this year. According to the announced schedule, the postponed written examinations will begin on August 20. The board has also decided that practical examinations for all subjects will be completed between September 9 and September 18 following the written exams . The board authorities have also issued a set of necessary instructions for examinees alongside the schedule.

The information was confirmed in a notification signed by Chattogram Education Board Exam Controller Professor Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury on Tuesday (August 4) . The notification mentioned that the education board authorities reserve the right to change this schedule if special circumstances arise.

According to the published schedule, the examinations will begin with the English (Compulsory) Second Paper on August 20 . On subsequent days, examinations will be held for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on August 22, and for Physics First Paper, Accounting First Paper and Logic First Paper on August 24. The second papers of these three subjects will be held on August 27.

Among the subsequent examinations, Geography First Paper will be held in the morning of August 29, while Arabic First and Pali First Paper examinations will be held in the afternoon of the same day. On August 31, Geography Second Paper will be held in the morning, and Arabic Second and Pali Second Paper in the afternoon. Following this, on September 2, examinations for Chemistry First Paper, Islamic History and Culture First Paper, History First Paper, Home Management and Family Life First Paper, and Production Management and Marketing First Paper will be held. The second papers of these subjects will be held on September 5.

Additionally, Economics First Paper and Engineering Drawing and Workshop Practice First Paper will be held on September 7, and the second papers of these subjects will conclude the written examinations on September 9.

Regarding the exam schedule and regulations, the education board said the morning shift examinations will run from 10:00am to 1:00pm daily, while the afternoon shift will run from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. To maintain a smooth and orderly environment, examinees have been instructed to take their designated seats at least 30 minutes before each examination begins.

The instructions further stated that the Engineering Drawing and Workshop Practice First Paper examination on September 7 will be held at the examinees' respective college centres. On that day, question papers will be collected from the main centre at 9:00am and the examination will be conducted under the direct supervision of the college principals.

Meanwhile, the Chattogram Education Board has advised examinees to contact their respective educational institutions or examination centre heads promptly for details regarding the specific dates, times and centres for the practical examinations.
