PR system could create confusion in elections: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has warned that the proposed proportional representation (PR) system could lead to confusion among voters if implemented in elections.

Rizvi made the remarks after a meeting with Hefazat-e-Islam leader Maulana Enamul Hasan Farooqui, who is undergoing cancer treatment, and provide him with financial assistance at capital's Jamia Madania Baridhara Madrasa on Monday (September 15).

He also criticized political alliances with defeated forces, saying such moves could create serious problems rather than benefit anyone.

Citing the Shapla Square incident, Rizvi accused the current government of mocking the sacrifices of Hefazat leaders and activists.

He further stated that Muslims cannot be suppressed through propaganda or violence.
