Pranay Verma hopes for new chapter in India-Bangladesh friendship on Eid
Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Verma has expressed hope that this year's holy Eid-ul-Fitr will open new horizons in friendly relations between India and Bangladesh.
He made these remarks after exchanging Eid greetings with Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the official residence of the opposition leader on Minto Road in the capital on Saturday (March 21).
Pranay Verma said that Eid is a festival that brings people closer and strengthens mutual relations. He expressed the hope that this Eid will further increase the contact between the people of India and Bangladesh and take the friendship of the two countries to new heights.
Diplomats from various countries also participated in the event. Among them were US Ambassador Brent Crescentsen, UK High Commissioner Sarah Cook, Saudi Arabian Ambassador Abdullah Zafar H. Bin Abia, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen and Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider.
They all exchanged Eid greetings with each other and expressed hope for further strengthening of mutual relations.
