Preparations for National Election are being made with December in mind: EC

Election Commissioner (Retd.) Brigadier General Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanauallah said that the timing of the election is not in the hands of the Commission, but in the hands of the government. However, following the instructions of the Chief Adviser, preparations for the national election are being made with December in mind.

He said this while responding to journalists’ questions after a meeting with data collectors, supervisors, and new voters regarding Voter Registration-2025 at Thakurgaon Road Degree College hall room on Tuesday (January 28).

When asked whether the election would take place after the reforms are completed or earlier, Sanauallah responded that the reforms are an ongoing process. However, it will be ensured that those working in the field perform their duties with professionalism and impartiality.
