Preparations underway to ensure safe environment for polls: RAB DG

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General and Additional Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidur Rahman has said that preparations are underway to ensure a safe and secure environment for the upcoming national elections, with efforts focused on strengthening the country’s overall law and order situation.

Speaking at a press conference held at the RAB Media Center in Karwan Bazar on Thursday (August 28), the RAB chief stated that the elite force is working in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to create an election-oriented environment.

“As the elections approach, detailed directives will be issued following joint meetings with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Election Commission,” he said. “We will carry out our responsibilities in accordance with those instructions.”

DG Shahidur Rahman also noted that specialized training on law and security is being arranged for RAB personnel as part of their internal preparation.

“Our primary focus at this stage is to ensure stability and maintain law and order to support a peaceful electoral process,” he added.
