President Md Sahabuddin has extended his sincere greetings and congratulations to the countrymen and all Muslim brothers and sisters around the world on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

In a message on Wednesday, May 27, he called upon the affluent and well-off sections of society to come forward for human welfare by properly sharing the joy of sacrifice with the poor, deprived and needy.

"Eid-ul-Azha is not only a major religious festival of Muslims but also a glorious and universal call for sacrifice, self-purification, and sacrificing jealousy, hatred and the beastly nature within," the president said.

The president noted that the holy Eid-ul-Azha, radiant with complete submission to Allah, unwavering obedience, and the unique glory of social equality, has arrived once again.

He said the example of submission, patience, faith and loyalty set by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) when he prepared to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail (AS) to obey Allah's command remains an eternal ideal for humanity. This great event teaches us to remain steadfast in devotion to Allah and the path of justice.

The president said the equitable distribution of sacrificial meat among relatives, neighbours and the poor fosters participation in society, reduces inequality, and awakens compassion and brotherhood. Eid-ul-Azha also helps supply meat to the poor throughout the year and broadly energises the country's economy.

He urged citizens to sacrifice animals in designated places, properly dispose of sacrificial waste, and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

Calling upon everyone to embrace the great teachings of Eid-ul-Azha and dedicate themselves to establishing honesty, tolerance, human values and the ideal of sacrifice in personal, social and state life, the president said we must work shoulder to shoulder to build a just, discrimination-free, welfare-oriented and humane Bangladesh.

"May Almighty Allah accept the sacrifices of us all and shower His infinite mercy upon the country and nation. May Eid-ul-Azha bring peace, stability, harmony and infinite blessings to the entire world," he concluded.
