President to leave for London tomorrow for health check-up

President Md Sahabuddin will leave for London on Saturday, May 9, for a medical check-up. Following the advice of physicians, the president will undergo necessary health examinations at a specialised hospital in Cambridge as a follow-up to his previous surgery.

The president's press secretary, Md Sarwar Alam, confirmed the information to BSS. A commercial flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the president will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for London on Saturday morning.

The president will be accompanied by his wife, Dr Rebeka Sultana, family members, his physician, and concerned officials and staff of Bangabangban.

The president is scheduled to return to the country on May 18 after completing the health examinations.

President Sahabuddin underwent cardiac bypass surgery in Singapore on October 18, 2023, and continues to receive follow-up care.
