Press secretary to CA explains reasons behind Chhatra League ban

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has explained why Chhatra League has been banned.

He explained the reasons behind the recent ban at a seminar titled Safe Bangladesh organised at the National Press Club at 11:30 am on Saturday (November 9).

At this time, Shafiqul Alam presented an article highlighting all the misdeeds and terrorist activities of Chhatra League in the last 12 years on various university campuses.

Shafiqul Alam said this study proves why Chhatra League has been banned, hand how radical was the student organization on the university campuses.

He said, “Chhatra League cannot be allowed to return to the universities in a fair environment. Campuses should be kept terrorist free.”

He also said if we want to reform the state, we will have to eliminate terrorism from the educational institutions.

Before this, Bangladesh Awami League's student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League was banned as per the anti-terrorism law. This announcement was made in a notification published by the Ministry of Home Affairs on October 23.
