Primary education most important part of education: Adviser

Adviser to the Primary and Mass Education Ministry Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar has said that primary education should be given importance, because it is the most essential part of education.

The adviser said this while addressing as the chief guest at the certificate distribution ceremony of orientation training course 2024, organised for newly joined headmasters (non-cadre) of government primary schools at the National Primary Education Academy (Nape) in Mymensingh on Monday (October 7).

The primary education adviser hoped that the newly joined headmasters will play a leading role in advancing primary education.

The adviser said, “Our biggest asset is people. Well-educated and healthy people are the wealth of the country and the nation. To improve the country, people must be educated. Health sector should be improved along with education. Both are necessary for overall improvement. A child gets interested in education and knowledge at an early stage. We need to focus on that area.”

Chaired by Director General of Nape Farid Ahmed, theb event was also attended, among others, Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Umme Salma Tanzia, Deputy Commissioner Mufidul Alam, Superintendent of Police Md Azizul Islam, Director of Nape Zia Ahmed Sumon, Deputy Director of Divisional Primary Education Department Mohammad Ali Reza, Course Director Abu Saleh, Ahsan Ibn Masood, and trainees Sumaiya Akhtar and Chhotan Chandra Roy.

Eighty headmasters from 48 districts of the country participated in the 15-day orientation training course. The course started on September 23 and scheduled to end on October 7. All the headmasters participating in the course are non-cadre selected through 40th BCS.

Earlier, the adviser interacted with officials at the National Primary Education Academy. Later, the advisor exchanged views with departmental, district and upazila level officials of Mymensingh Division under the Directorate of Primary Education at the National Primary Education Academy.
